Rewire TMS Clinics is passionate about helping patients with severe mental illness find another
step to recovery.
Founded by Dr Stastny in 2021, we offer access to, and promote awareness of, transcranial magnetic stimulation. TMS is an FDA-approved treatment for treatment-resistant depression, refractory OCD and other neurological and psychiatric conditions. Our vision is for TMS to become accessible and affordable throughout South Africa.

Dr Stastny
Founder & Psychiatrist
Dr Stastny founded Rewire TMS Clinics in 2021, after recognising that transcranial magnetic stimulation was an effective
treatment not yet available in Cape Town.
She earned her medical degree at the University of Pretoria and trained as a psychiatrist at the University of Cape Town, later gaining TMS accreditation through Monash University. Her career has spanned clinics serving communities across Africa and hospitals in Europe, and for the past decade she has practised from Constantia.
Aslam Barends
Operations Manager | TMS Coordinator
Aslam is a counsellor registered with the ASCHP and an accredited TMS Technician, with TMS training and accreditation through Maastricht University. As Operations Manager and TMS Coordinator, he oversees the day-to-day operations and coordination of TMS services at Rewire TMS Clinic. His work brings together operational leadership, TMS proficiency and patient-centred care, with a particular passion for supporting patients throughout their treatment journey.
Juanita Johannes
Counsellor & Mental Health Advocate
Juanita's love for promoting mental health led her to a bachelor's degree in psychology and registration with the ASCHP as a counsellor. She has designed school programmes for at-risk children, and brings that same advocacy to her work with patients.
Tessa Prolad
Technician & Mental Health Advocate
Tessa holds a BA Honours degree in Psychology. She is passionate about supporting mental wellness through evidence-based TMS treatment and empathetic patient care.
Dr Michael Ferreirinha
Psychiatrist, Cat's Corner
Dr Ferreirinha joined Rewire together with his Kindmind clinic, and champions wider access to neuromodulation. He believes care grounded in genuine human connection is authentic,
more effective and more meaningful, and it shapes how
he treats every patient.
